BacklinkingTools

Why BacklinkingTools exists

The problem we kept hitting

Link analysis is essential, expensive, and strangely closed. The market leaders charge $49–$450/month, their free tiers are tiny (Moz offers 10 backlink lookups a month), and their scores are black boxes. Meanwhile the free, authoritative source of your own link data — Google Search Console — caps its links report at 1,000 rows, exposes no backlink data via its API, and gives you messy CSVs that most people end up hand-wrangling in a spreadsheet.

We kept watching SEOs, site owners, and small agencies do the same thing over and over: export links from GSC or Ahrefs, paste them into Sheets, and manually count anchor types, hunt for spammy domains, and format disavow files. That's slow, error-prone, and — worse — it means sending sensitive client data into yet another SaaS.

Our answer

BacklinkingTools is a set of free, private, in-browser tools that do that analysis instantly: anchor-text auditing with benchmarks, a transparent link-quality rubric, a correct-by-construction disavow generator, a GSC links parser, a link health checker, and outreach helpers — all grounded in a published methodology and honest about what the numbers can and can't tell you.

What we do and don't do

  • We do analyze the link data you already have, wherever it came from.
  • We don't crawl the web, operate a link index, or resell anyone's data. (That's also why we're free — indexing is what costs $450/month.)
  • We don't require accounts, emails, or credit cards.
  • We don't sell or share your data — most tools never send it to us at all.
  • We do publish every score and benchmark, with sources.

How we sustain this

The tools are free and will stay free. As the platform grows we may add optional, clearly-labeled paid capabilities (bulk processing, saved projects, team workspaces, API access) — but the core toolkit and the methodology will remain free and public. We'll never monetize by selling your data or by selling links; both are against everything this site stands for.

Roadmap

  • Now: the eight tools, methodology, and research library.
  • Next: saved projects & campaign dashboards (local-first, still private).
  • Later: Common Crawl-powered lookups, GSC API sync for bigger-than-1,000-row analysis, and a lost-link monitor.
